How I got Google Adsense Approval on a 7 Weeks Old Blog

We all know that google is now strict when it comes to adsense approval. Back in the days when google adsense approval is as easy as ABC even without a blog post on your blog but nowadays, any slight change in their terms and condition or adsense program policy will lead to an automatic disapproval. Currently, this blog is having 17 quality blog post and a few numbers of pages, though I once applied the first time which was rejected and I had to make some amendments before getting an approval. So how did I get google adsense approval?

How i got google adsense approval

How I got google adsense approval.

These are the cakes I consumed before getting google adsense approval but most of them are mentioned in their adsense program policy and also make sure you read their terms and conditions.

Content

The content on your blog matters a lot, google will definitely not accept an application from a blog without or with little amount of content. Of course we all know the saying that content is king, get quality content on your blog and get approval. Before google can consider you for adsense approval your content must have the following;
Must be originally yours and not copied elsewhere.
Your blog language must be a language adsense supports.
It must not be short but from a range of 400 words and above.
You must have a minimum of 10 – 20 blog post (depending on the length of your posts).

Blog Design

Google have started peeping into our blog design, speed and navigation. Any blog without this won’t get adsense approval. Try to make your blog accessible with easy navigation by starting with a well defined and professionally configured theme. I wrote a post on things to consider when going for the best blog design, you can check it out. Don’t miss out how I improved my website load time to 1 second.

To have a blog design like mine of easy approval then go get genesis themes the best theme for bloggers

Pages

The pages on your blog matters a lot and there are three essential pages that must not be omitted. Your Contact page, about page and a privacy policy page. With this page, all you’re telling google is “hey google I have a professional blog and I’m ready for you guys” I’ll give a little explanation on these pages.

  • Contact Page

We all know that a contact page must have a contact form but that’s not all, you can add few words above your contact form, this can be something brief about your blog and reason why your readers or visitors should contact you, this gives the page a little weight. I’m using contact form 7. It’s better than just typing your email address and telling your readers to send you a mail. Instead, they’ll contact you automatically from your page. Have a look at my contact page and the see the practical aspect of the story I just said above.

  • About Page

Your about page tells your visitor a brief story about you and about your blog anytime they check it out. This shows that you are really the owner of your blog and it belongs to no one else. You can also include your picture on your about page but I don’t think it’s important. At least your readers can see you through your gravater. You can check my about page and see what it looks like.

  • Privacy page

I don’t think google included this in those early days of blogging, I’ll go ask them the reason why they did this and gave us more stress but before that I’ll show a simple way on how I created my privacy policy page and how you can do this. I used serprank privacy policy generator you can check it out to create yours too.

Traffic

Traffic has it’s own role to play when it comes to getting adsense approval. I’ve gotten some decent amount of traffic from my commenting strategy and couple of guest post that I’ve written. Things to avoid when applying for google adsense

One thing you must know about google is that they are jealous, don’t tell them I told you. They hate it when any other program comes in their way. So what are the things to avoid when applying for adsense?

Popups

Popups can hinder google bots from crawling your blog during the first review, so whatever type of popup it is, either popunder, popover or popacross; deactivate it, it’s temporal and will be reactivated after approval.

Other ad networks

There are other ad network that are not as strict as google and you might have them on your blog either for quick earning or just to fill blank spaces on your blog. Make sure you deactivate them before applying for google adsense.

Conclusion

I heard that getting google adsense approval in India is quite difficult and takes up to 6 months, though I’m not sure, I’m just assuming. If you’re an Indian, I’d love to hear your view on this, how long does it take to get adsense approval over there?

Google adsense is not a dependable way of monetizing a blog, depending on your traffic. It’s just a way of starting out. The best I can say is affiliate marketing and i would love to hear your view on this. These are the methods I used in getting google adsense approval on my blog. What step did you take before getting approved by google and how long did it take you to get adsense approval on your blog.

    Hi Gilbert,

    It must not be very difficult to get approved for Ad networks like Adsense. However, because bloggers and webmasters did too much to exploit the system, people from India and Pakistan face really hard time to get approved by Google.

    Your post truly focuses on great content and honest approaches. So Google must be happy to approve your application.

      Glad to see you here Suresh,

      You’re right, it’s not difficult to get approval from adsense, that’s if their policy are being complied with. I guess the way bloggers and webmasters exploited it really put a frown on google’s face.

      Thanks for the compliment, I’m trying my best to bring the quality out of my contents.

    • says

      You’re totally right Raplus,
      Its as simple as anything if they comply with their policy.

      Thanks for the correction, My bad, english is a common language. I’ve made some amendments though.

    I just don’t know what to add more. Should I say congratulations or just expect the worse from Google? Hahaha, I have my own personal feelings against Adsense! It’s personal though!

    I wish you the best!

    • says

      Haha, I’ve seen your comment on blogs like BTT and MMF and i noticed how much you hate adsense. Lets wait for google’s next action, i hope they won’t frown their face at me. 555 🙂

    • says

      Not at all Ugee,
      Traffic doesn’t matter, if the above steps are taken then approval won’t be a problem, but the disadvantage is that without traffic, your earnings will be very low and in some cases, it might lead to a temptation of clicking the ad yourself which can lead to BANNING if google finds out.
      But all the same, traffic doesn’t matter in any way.

    I had Ad Sense for 5 days when I started my first blog. One of my relatives that will remain nameless, started clicking on the ads and they banned me after the 5 days. I have tried and tried to plead my case, but can get nowhere. The only salvation I have is I have heard from other bloggers in the trade that it really does not provide any income to speak of.

      • says

        Gilbert,
        Yes its been a very long time, but their ruling was applied to my computer IP address I am guessing, as I cannot get approved for my current blog either (states I violated their terms a while back). I guess it’s a lifetime ban. I think its ridiculous that they will not give 2nd chances after certain periods of punishment.

      You did a little rushing on your blog by posting up to 2 articles a day on a new blog, there should be gaps, this will give you more time for promotion and won’t bore your readers.

      Just make sure that your posts are not copied elsewhere because google will find out, you can wait for more couple of weeks or a month and don’t forget to keep posting quality contents.
      You need to work hard on your traffic.

      If you’re from countries like pakistan, india, or china. It might take you six months in order to get approval. Are you from any of the listed country?

      Please disable popups on your blog as google does not allow this, you can re-enable it after approval.
      I checked your contact page and you don’t have a contact form, please include one.
      Your privacy policy page doesn’t support google adsense, check my privacy policy and change my email and website to yours or you can use the privacy policy generator that I mentioned on my post.

      Hi Saharsh,
      I can’t find your contact page, about me (the one in your footer doesn’t count) and a privacy policy page. create them and place them at your header or nav menu, follow the steps in my post and create those pages. Your site design matters though, it doesn’t look friendly.

    Nice Article Gilbert!

    Having others ads didn’t affect your approval chances even they only disapprove who use too much ads, pop-up ads or ads which looks like Google AdSense’s ads. If anyone is using Infolinks type ad network than they can apply and also may get approval, however they may not approve with Kontera.

    And about approval in India, I am Indian and I got approval when my blog was 35 Days old. So I think Indian users can also get approval within 6 months, however Google has mentioned somewhere that Asian users have to own their domain for 6 months before they can get approval but may be it is not for everyone. And they especially included it for India and China.

    Akash

    • says

      Thanks for sharing your view Akash,

      I can’t call infolinks an ads (though its an ad) but it doesn’t look like one to google, it may just look just like a link so google can byepass infolink and give approval.

      You’re really lucky to get an approval, wow! 35days, that’s not up to 5 weeks. When did you apply?
      I checked your blog it looks great but you don’t have a privacy policy page. You mean your adsense account was approved without a privacy policy page?

      • says

        No, actually I was having Privacy Policy page and still that is but I removed that’s link but soon place it in footer. But while applying I was have Privacy Policy page.

        I was applied just after two weeks of my blog and got rejected (as usual) but after my third attempt I got approval as that time my blog was also getting good traffic.

            Hi Samuel, I had to go to google adsense program policy webpage to help you get the info from a right source. It’s pasted below;

            Google advertising cookies
            AdSense publishers must have and abide by a privacy policy that discloses that third parties may be placing and reading cookies on your users’ browsers, or using web beacons to collect information as a result of ad serving on your website.

            WordPress blogs have cookies enabled by default and this made it essential to have an adsense privacy policy page showing that your blog supports cookies, hope this helps. An example of knowing if my blog has cookies is; if you don’t need to type your name, email and website in your second comment. 🙂
            If you don’t understand, you might just need to follow the rules, that was how i escaped from Mr G
            hope this helps.

    Great reading Gilbert and congrats on your Adsense approval. I think Google isn’t that strict still, because there are a lot of Adsense approval schemes going on. If you Google “buy adsense account” you will see hundreds of guys selling Adsense accounts and their sites still ranking on top in the SERPs. If Google is that strict, those results shouldn’t be seen around right?,

      I just checked and I can’t believe what I saw. Google is strict but I don’t know why they are not doing anything about it.

      One more thing: google bots and crawlers can’t read “buy adsense account” (maybe unless they are programmed for that) crawlers only index your site, they don’t read the content. This might be one of the reason why those results are still on search engines.
      I’ve seen many sites about hacking that have google adsense on them too, I wonder why google is not doing anything about it.

              Go dipper right from when you started blogging;
              Make sure your articles and images are genuinely yours and not copied from search engine;
              Make sure the info you provide on your first review is the same with the info on your whois;
              Have you been banned from google adsense before exploiting your adsense or another persons adsense? Try checking your ip and see if it has been banned for any reason.

My advice to those keening on adsense is that just keep on doing what you love, set a standard blog and influence people with your write up because i will say i’m tired of adsense this and that. My Adsense application got disapproved 3 times! First two times it was for insufficient content, and I’ve read the TOS and other guidelines carefully and still they rejected me for “Copyrighted material” and “Site does not comply with Google policies” >”< I'm a writer and I post original content online. If my content has become rich and my audience has grown, how likely would my fourth application be successful?

    • says

      Hi Claudia,

      I’d love to help, first two times was insufficient content now the question is:
      How many blog post do you have on your blog? Must be “20” and above
      are they all more than 500 words? Must be more than 500 words

      Then about copyrighted materials:
      Are the blog posts genuine, original and churned out by yourself or did you copied it from somewhere else? Ok you said these were genuine
      How about the images on your blog, did you just download them from google?

      If you did these then you need to make some amendments and reapply, sometimes you can just go according to what google said is missing on your blog.

      E.g: if google says – no organic traffic then you need to work on your organic traffic.
