The latest google pagerank update is taking longer than expected, normally it takes just 3 month but for over 5 months now, we haven’t heard any news concerning the google pagerank update.
To those of us that are new to blogging, how do you feel anytime you try to check your pagerank and all you see is N/A? Have you experienced this before? Well, the question everybody’s asking now is; when is the next google pagerank update. The last pagerank update was on the 4th of February and the next was supposed to occur between May and June (3 months interval) but nothing happened.
Google Pagerank Update
Well, Google pagerank update
May 2013 is at the corner and this is going to occur anytime this month or next. You might be thinking that pagerank has no effect on a blog but the major importance of pageranks are;
Why would I work hard with a couple of guest post, blog commenting and other safe link building strategies if I don’t want an increase in pagerank? Of course I’ll have to work hard and build safe backlinks to my blog in order to get some results. It’s just like writing an exam and google pagerank update displays the result of the exam you wrote. Your pagerank shows how hard you’ve worked for your blog and the quality contents on your blog.
Higher Ranking on SERP
For sure, you’re going to rank higher but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t work on your SEO. Your blog won’t go an inch near the search engine result page if you neglect it. Optimize your blog and content for search engine and your pagerank is what’s going to double the size of your cake.
Definitely, you must have done some hard work by writing quality contents and building links from quality sites now that google pagerank update is around the corner. Well if you haven’t done this, I don’t think it’s too late; you can still get other sites to link to you.
These are my little secrets of getting a higher pagerank.
Quality content is the key to a successful blog and without quality content on your blog, you won’t get a higher ranking, as yourself if your blog has quality content. Sure! You can answer the question, you wrote the content yourself so you’ll know if it has quality or not. Check out my post on dzsdD5 significance of quality content
Submitting guest posts on blogs with higher pagerank is the best and first method to consider when it comes to getting backlinks from other blog. I’m sure you know about guest blogging so there no need to waste some white space. I submitted tons of guest post and I’m sure I’ll have a good result when there’s an update, want to be a guest blogging addict? Check out my post on how to be an addicted blogger
This is another strategy and I’m perfect in this, I managed to be one of the top commenters on few blogs and it’s awesome because I’ve generated a lot of traffic from blog commenting alone. Nowadays, 80% of blogs are nofollow due to number of spam comments they received all in the name if backlinks. If you want your comment approved, then drop quality comments on blogs.
Block Pagerank sucking loopholes
Linking to other sites on your blog is a way of giving out your pagerank juice to the blog thereby reducing your pagerank. To avoid this, you can simply download the nofollow external link plugin and the plugin does the rest for you or you can do this manually by adding rel=”nofollow” attribute to any external link on your blog. This prevents the blogs you link to from sucking your pagerank juice.
Join Online Communities
Joining online communities is one of the methods I use in generating traffic to my blog, my favorite is bizsugar. Do you also know that these communities can help in increasing your pagerank? Of course it can. Online communities are not just for traffic but also for backlinks. Join online communities now if you haven’t and increase your backlinks. I wrote a list of blogging communities to promote your blog, check it out.
Promoting your blog on social media is also a great way to increase your backlink. I’m sure you’re doing because it’s most common way of promoting a blog. The more the number of links pointing you your blog, the more the chance of boosting your pagerank. Try to spend little time and promote your blog on social media. Justretweet does this for me when it comes to facebook, twitter and google+ marketing.

If you still have some spare time then I’ll recommend forums. This is a platform where bloggers and webmasters meet to share valuable information and help each other. My favorite is warriorforum and Digitalpoint. It’s simple, just include your blog link and keyword in your signature and create helpful thread or reply to threads.
Submitting your blog contents to article directories is yet another great another strategy. Previously, submitting blog contents to article directories was a very great way of generating traffic but it’s not as effective as before anymore. But talking about backlinks, then article directories must not be left out. My favorites are Ezinearticles and Goarticles.
These methods are not only ways to generate traffic to your blog but they also have a hand in increasing your pagerank. I wouldn’t want to wake up tomorrow and see 500 sites linking to you, if you attempt that, then you’re doing nothing than provoking the google gods. Low quality contents or unnatural links on your blog can get your blog de-indexed. I guess you need to make some changes on your blog if you fall in this category.
What’s your opinion about the google pagerank update? Is it taking too long or do you want it delayed in order to have more time to build backlinks?
